The history of Duncraft bird feeders starts with Gil Dunn who invented a wood tray feeder that clipped onto windowsills. For 1952, this was a very innovative design. Everything you wanted or needed to attract wild birds was right there. seed wells, water dish, perching dowels and holes for peanut butter! By the late 1960’s Duncraft was in the mail order business selling a variety bird seeds and feeders. Duncraft field tests and uses all of the products that they offer and their first consideration is always bird safety.
Duncraft reports that after 50+ years in bird feeding they have still not found a feeder that provides 100% protection from squirrels. They do have a rangeof products that they will certify as 99% successful in their field testing. These they will call "squirrel proof".
